Suggest Treatment For Swelling In Tongue Due To An Allergic Reaction

take an anti allergic like cetrizine
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for the query.
Swelling of tongue due to allergic reaction to sea food is not going to go with Benadryl as it does not contain any anti allergic.
Please take an anti allergic tablet like cetirizine or levocetrizine. A dose of steroid like prednisolone/betamethasone will also help but this needs to be taken under doctors supervision. Steam inhalation should also help and so is the raising of upper part of body from lower part (sitting or lying with head on a pillow).
So, if your swelling is not subsiding or is increasing after anti allergic or is causing some difficulty in respiration, see a doctor in the emergency. You may need an intravenous anti allergic an steroid.

should be available
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
These are commonly used anti allergic drugs and are available without prescription in many countries.
For your place, you need to check. If not available, then a GP prescription should do.
Swelling should subside in few hours, but may take a day or two for complete resolution depending upon the present status.
