Question: Hi
I had sex with my gentleman friend three days ago. The postion was a bit awkward and the sex was a bit rough. A day later my mons pubis became very swollen. I'm wondering if this is STI related or is it due to the rough sex. And will this go away! Please help any input is appreciated

Brief Answer:
More due to rough sex

Detailed Answer:
Hello!Thank you for asking Health Care Magic.
I have gone through your question and i understand your concern.

From what you describe ,i think that is more related to rough sex(physical trauma) than to any STD or PID, especially when you don't have any vaginal discharge,or any other symptoms that indicate more a STD cause. So i agree with your PCP but sometimes in emergency care is neccesary to do some test to rule out more serious cause(PID).

The pain and swolling willl go away in a few days.
During these days try to rest ,avoid any touching of the area, use cold compreses first day, after warm compreses, take painkillers (Ibuprofen/Paracetamol,make sure you are not allergic first).

Hope my answer is helpful.
Take Care!
