Suggest Treatment For Swollen And Sore Leg

Think of any injury. If not sure, get a color doppler done.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for asking.
I am Dr. Prakash HM and I will be answering your query.
Based on your query, my opinion is as follows:
1. If there is no recent injury, or spasm, and the swelling and pain in the back of the leg started after a prolonged rest - then DVT can be thought of.
2. If there is a previous history of any DVT/stroke, then the risk is high.
3. If there is no history of prolonged rest (atleast more than 6-8 hours with completely reduced movement), then I don't feel this may be related to DVT.
4. However, if you are not sure, need to get the color doppler test of the lower limb to look for any thrombus. You will need to go to the hospital for this test.
Think carefully about any sort of injury, as it could be only muscle swelling. Any new foot wear, with heels, specifically can be the cause of pain. A mild slip could also have led to tendon and muscle injury. Avoid any movement for now. For pain, ibuprofen can be taken for now. Do get back with more details for further opinion.
Hope it helps.
