Suggest Treatment For Swollen Lymph Nodes On The Side Of Neck
I went to a Dr not for this but because I had a numb face 2 weeks ago , they did an MRI and a MRA and an ultra sound of my neck but nothing in the area on the sides of my neck where these knots I found are ,
The results came back , everything good except I have 50% blockage in both my caratoid arteries so I'm on daily aspirin and need to change my diet so it won't get worse in the future.
Tests should no sign of a stroke ?
But now these 2 knots concern me?
Are they muscle knots or something else , my neck is still very stiff and I've been under a lot of stress plus yes I do lift weights 3 times a week , could this have caused these lumps or knots ? There under the skin and do not hurt when I touch them , they both lay on the muscle that runs down both sides of my back neck
They look like Lymph nodes .
Detailed Answer:
Hi
As per your description, they look like enlarged cervical lymphnodes.
They are enlarged in bacterial infection, granulomatous diseases, Lymphoma etc.
They are not related to stress or lifting weights.
First, you should get an FNAC ( Fine Needle aspiration Cytology ) of the swelling. It will give a clue. If it is inconclusive, you should consult your Surgeon and get one swelling removed surgically and send it for histopathological examination ( Biopsy ). Exact diagnosis will be confirmed.
Till then, you should take Antibiotic like Cefuroxime tablet along with Anti inflammatory tablet. For neck stiffness, take Skeletal muscle relaxant tablet containing Thiocolchicoside.
Hope I answered your query. If you have any questions, I will clarify further.
Wish you good health.
