Suggest Treatment For Swollen Spots On Head, Left Ear, Neck , Nose And Shoulder
Question: Hi Sir,
My Mom is about 55 yrs old. About 15 days back she developed uniform swellings on head which felt like cushion close to quarter inch thick. Upon seeing a physician, he suggested it is allergy as there were some some mouthed wounds as well. BP, Sugar, haemoglobin reports were normal. however, platelet count was low at 69. Medication suggested was doxycyclin, XXXXXXX and lacto baccillus for 3 days. wounds healed and are gone now. but we didn't see any improvement in swelling from medication. The swelling has now run down to left ear, neck, nose and left shoulder. apart from stiffness and little in head, she is not having any abnormal feeling.
we are worried. please suggest.

Thanks Doc for taking my case.
Here is what you asked for:
- She started medication on 29 August.
- She has finished the prescribed dosage as below:
- Mebex 1-0-1 x 3 Days
- Zincovit 1-0-1 x 7 Days
- Doxt SL 1-0-1 x 7 Days
- XXXXXXX 1-0-0 x 5 Days (empty stomach)
- Her forehead had turned red-dish which has turned a little darker. Apart from that she has no rashes or spots anywhere.
- No fever
- No difficulty in breathing
- One thing I missed to update was that the swelling keeps reducing or increasing everyday slightly and also shifts along the affected areas (head, forehead, upper nose, left side of neck and left shoulder)
- The test reports are normal. Attaching them along with some of the photographs.
- She also had x- rays done for PNS and neck which suggested increased sinus in left region and mild spondalitis.

Brief Answer:
Allergic reaction
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for providing history in detail,
And sending reports and photos,
Its is certainly helpfull,
All the reports are normal
Except platelet count its not too low but its towards lower side,
The report you mentioned shows dengue negative,
So its also evaluated,
I recommend you to take tab cetrizine 5 mg twice a day for 3 days,it will help
And repeat the test complete blood count (cbc) to see the platelet count.
Hope this information helps.
