Brief Answer:
Gout cannot be entirely ruled out

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for posting the query.

I hope this message finds you in good health.

The fact that you have a history of gout, the first possibility that should be kept in mind is of gout. Unless and until you get your blood checked for uric acid levels, gout cannot be entirely ruled out. Clinically, just by examination,it is very difficult to diagnose gout.

Other possibilities include soft tissue inflammation, sprain, early cellulitis etc.

You can initially start on anti-inflammatory fibrinolytic enzyme tablets like paracetamol, trypsin, chymotrypsin, serratiopeptidase etc for 3 days.Application of ice packs and compression bandage will be helpful.

If you find no signs of recovery, you should get your blood investigations done which should include uric acid, complete blood count, sugar and urea levels.

Get back to me when the reports are ready.

I hope the answer was helpful.

Thank you.

Kind regards.
