Brief Answer:
this can be thrombophlebitis

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have studied your case and I want to assure you that swelling in your vein is not related to dehydration or carpel tunnel syndrome. Rather it is more closely related to inflammation. This condition is called thrombophlebitis. It can be due to following causes.
1. Injection in that vein.
2. Can be due to external injury.
3. Idiopathic- when there is no obvious reason.
In my patients with thrombophlebitis I have following advises.
1. Thrombophobe ointment twice daily.
2. Ice application
3. Antiinflammatory tablets such as Nimesulide /Ibuprofen/ Diclofenec.
4.Splinting or rest.
5. Do not use this vein for any injection in near future.
I hope this answer will be useful for you. Let me know if there is any other followup query.
Thanks.
