Brief Answer:
New onset atrial fibrillation

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care concerns

I am sorry to see that you have developed new atrial fibrillation which is probably from the prior valve disease. Because of the A fib your will need to be on an anticoagulant before they can try converting your heart back to regular sinus rythym. The eliquis is used for that reason. The cardiac MRI is to look at the heart muscle and wall motion of the heart to see if you would be a good candidate for cardioversion and see if there are any other reasons for the atrial fib. There are no diet changes you need to make at this time and there are no diets that will help the atrial fib. The only thing I would recommend is not to drink alcohol. There is a high correlation between alcohol use and atrial fib.

I do recommend you follow your cardiologists recommendations as they are all sound good advice.

I hope I answered your question. Please contact us again if you have any additional questions
