Brief Answer:
Time to go in to see a dr.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome,

I'm sorry you are feeling so ill. Treatment of Fatty Liver Disease depends on the cause. In some cases it is due to drinking alcohol. Usually the type of FLD that is due to being overweight does not cause hepatitis type symptoms.

But your symptoms may not be due to FLD. It may be due to a problem with the gall bladder or, if you've had your gall bladder removed, to a problem with the remaining ducts.

It's time to go back in to the doctor and have liver function enzymes drawn, and likely an ultrasound of the liver and gall bladder.

If you can't get in to see your doctor quickly, go in to an ER if you are in a lot of pain.

Try not to take too much Tylenol, as it can be hard on the liver. If you are able to tolerate NSAIDs, try ibuprofen (taken after eating so that it doesn't irritate your stomach).

I hope this information helps. If you would like, please feel welcome to let me know how you are doing after you are evaluated.

Well ty, won't have active med insurance until Aug 1st just started new job and can't afford cobra. Would Motrin be better than Tylenol? I don't drink, and this really ogt triggered on May 14th, when I ate 3 fried chicken tacos over a 3 day period, had a catered party for husbands retirement party.

Sometimes I do wake up tasting a little of bile in my mouth but no really bad acid reflux.

Brief Answer:
Motrin is fine if you tolerate it.

Detailed Answer:
The reaction to a fatty meal sounds more like a gall bladder problem. You could wait except for that you have a fever. This can mean that there is an infection going on, and so it would be better to have this evaluated sooner than later.

Given that it may be a gall bladder rather than a liver problem (but I can't know for sure), it may not matter whether you take Tylenol or not, but if you tolerate Motrin, then take that.

Is there a university hospital near you that might see you without insurance? Because I really think you need to be seen now.
