Suggest Treatment For Symptoms Of Subclinical Intestinal Infection
Most probably intestinal infection
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query for your daughter.
The commonest cause of feeling of hot tummy inside and feeling shaky sometimes in a child of 8 years can be:
Sub-clinical intestinal infection.
Tummy tonsils, meaning mesenteric lymph nodes in the abdomen.
Can be stomach flu in some cases as eliciting a proper history in a child is difficult.
I would like to know your observations related to:
Any nausea, vomiting ?
Appetite ?
Fever ?
Hard stools or Loose stools ?
Any increase after food? If yes, is it immediate or after say an hour ?
Any other observation, like how is she while playing and so on....
I know it is difficult to get a proper history, your observations also do matter a lot.
I would suggest in such a situation the following:
If there are associated symptoms, your daughter may need a course of an antibiotic and metronidazole.
Ultrasonography helps to have a diagnosis of lymph nodes, appendicitis and many other conditions.
Routine tests of blood, urine and stool.
If any doubts, it is always better to be seen by a Pediatrician or preferable Pediatric Surgeon so that a clinical examination by an Expert can help better diagnosis, can assure you and the child better if nothing is serious and can order for relevant investigations if needed and of course you get a valid prescription.
I hope this answer helps you get a proper diagnosis and treatment. Please feel free to ask for any further relevant questions, provide additional information or if you feel there is a gap-of-communication.
