Suggest Treatment For Throat Allergy
Question: Dear Doctor,
I received just a massage 29 days ago after which I had an entire blood work test done including a rapid HIV test and everything came out normal except an ESR test which shows 20mm/hr where normal should be within 10 according to the report. I have a slightly throat allergy and am 32 yrs old however over weight at 115 kgs and 5.11. I also do work out and lift weights. Could this be a hiv infection? Or is there no need to worry. I have no exposure other than this massage.

Brief Answer:
Don't think this is HIV infection...
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Massage has very low risk of transmitting HIV infection assuming there was no unprotected sexual intercourse associated with a risky partner. Moreover negative HIV testing is against the possibility of HIV. Therefore I don't think your throat symptoms is related to HIV. But if you are still worried you may opt for better test - HIV elisa or HIV DNA PCR test. I am sure the other tests will also come negative. So don't be worried.
Hope this helps.
Regards
