Yes, needs to be checked out ASAP
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for your query.
I'm Dr. Shuba Hariprasad and will be answering your query today.
Yes it can be related. Heart pumps blood to the rest of the body. When there if any problem with the heart, blood flow to the rest of the body can be compromised and can present as headaches.
Heart related pain/tightness can also be felt in the neck, jaw, left arm and back.
All chest pain must be immediately investigated.
Would you please clarify a few things for me?
1)how old are you? What is your height and weight?
2)do you smoke or consume alcohol? If so, how frequently and how much?
3)any history of heart disease, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, Thyroid hormone imbalances, diabetes for you or any family member?
4)do you have any other medical issues or take any medications?
5)what is your routine day like?
I would :
-clinically examine you to look for signs of heart disease and neurovascular compromise as part of a thorough general exam
- get an electrocardiogram and an echocardiogram along with a chest x-ray.
-run blood tests (complete blood count, Thyroid profile, lipid profile, blood glucose panel, kidney, liver function tests, trop-I to check for heart muscle damage)
Based on the history, clinical findings and above test results, I could help you further.
I recommend that you see a physician to check for these.
If in the meanwhile, you experience worsening chest pain or tightness, giddiness, palpitations, unexplained sweating, breathing difficulty, please visit the ER right away.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.
Wish you good health
Regards,
Dr. Shuba Hariprasad
