Suggest Treatment For Tingling Sensation In The Fingers When Diagnosed With Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

Same, when reading a book or typing. Why?
Otherwise, very good health, weight, exercising, etc. Am 76. This just started several months ago. Tingling in non-little fingers only. I have some scoliosis. Would restricted circulation relate? If so, would I have a different blood pressure in each arm? Would an MRI detect this?
Thanks.
Nerve conduction test/Antineuralgic drugs/Wrist splintage

Hi XXXX,
Thanks for being on healthcaremagic.com.
I am Dr.Ajay Panwar,a neurologist, here to answer your query.
I would like to know that is your CTS proven electrophysiologically. If not, you should undergo a neurological examination and nerve conduction studies. If yes, treatment is based on the following core components-
1)Wrist splintage(cock-up splint)- for optimal duration everyday
2)Rest from intensive hand work
3)Antineuralgic medicines like- pragabalin, duloxetine, amitriptyline along with methylcobalamin.
Some scoliosis would not cause restricted circulation, so I do not suspect circulatory disturbance as the cause of your symptoms.
Hope that helps. If you have any further questions or some specific confusion, I shall be glad to have you in follow-up.

I also said that I only have symptoms when my arm is level(lying down, reading and typing when seated). Lowering my arm stops the symptoms. Wouldn't this observation suggest restricted blood flow that is relieved when my arm is lowered?
I am retired and don't do intensive hand work.
That is not confirmatory of restricted blood flow.

Hi,
Thanks for being in follow-up.
The point you said that you get the symptoms when your arm is level is not definite for a restricted blood flow.A restricted blood flow may have weak or absent pulse in the arm and blood pressure difference. This can be said convincingly only after a physical examination.Of course we can do imaging studies like doppler and angiogram for vascular abnormalities but a physical examination will be the true guide.
Hope that helps. If you have any further questions,I shall be glad to have you in follow up.
