Suggest Treatment For Torn Meniscus In The Leg

Last night I got out of bed and had one of those spasms/cramps on the right side of knee down a bit to the calf, and it took a couple of minutes for it to stop. In my situation, how do I get back to "normal" confident walking especially without fear of clicks and spasms and tightness (as I get when sitting and rising from a chair sometimes)? I certainly do not want to envisage myself depending on a cane......
Physiotherapy can help.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
Whether the repair is practical or not can be decided only by your surgeon after looking at the MRI scans and assessing you clinically. If repair is not possible then removal of extrusion and wearing a brace will be the only option.
The only way to reduce the cramps and to walk normally is by doing regular physiotherapy that will help in strengthening of the muscles around the knee. The better the support to knee, lesser will be the spasms. Doing a hot compress and taking joint lubricant supplements like Glucosamine can help to some extent.
I hope this answers your query.
