Suggest Treatment For Twitching Of The Eyelids

Question: I have a problem with eyelid twitching when I get up in the morning and the only way I can get it to stop is if I read a book for a few minutes. It also occurs during the day if I get into a stressful situation. Reading is the only way I can get it to stop.Can you advise?

To keep it short and easy for you to understand, this twitching can be due to 2 reasons, either it is some generalized electrolyte deficiency but that would lead to twitching in various parts of the body. Other cause is some local nerve problem, as it is hapenning in the same area. To manage this, you can get your electrolytes checked up, and start with conservative management of some early morning lid massage. If it is not cured then you can consider injections of botulinun toxin, which will last for 6 months. Kindly consult a local ophthalmologist for getting the botulinum injections.
