Suggest Treatment For Twitching Sensation In Limbs
The muscle relaxant was flexeril and did help reduce the twitching substantially (particularly in my face). It did make me drowsy, and on two days when I went out with inadequate sleep (<6 hours), I felt so disoriented that i needed to come back and take a nap. I felt normal once I did that. Is this normal? When can I expect my symptoms to subside if this is just benign?
Needs to be evaluated properly
Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
You probably have fasciculations.
In your case it may be calcium and vitamin D deficiency due to prolonged treatment for epilepsy or other causes like benign fasciculations syndrome.
Only matter of concern will be if you have associated wasting or some abnormal upper motor clinical signs.
Another possibility may be neuromyotonia.
I would suggest you to consult a neurologist for proper evaluation and investigation.
You may require blood investigation and nerve conduction study for proper diagnosis.
Hope you found the answer helpful.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX,
Wasting means thinning of limbs and muscle bulk in the region of fasciculations.
Upper motor signs are stiffness in muscles and increased jerk or extensor plantar which has to be examined by neurologist.
I will advice you to consult a neurologist if this symptom is more than 2-3 months else you can wait with multivitamins and calcium supplements.
