Dear Concerned.,
Thanks for writing to us.,
the constant
twitch you are referring to is called by the Medical Term "myokimia", it is a spontaneous ,quivering of muscle bundles , involuntarily but localised to a group of muscle fibres.
In your case it is "Lt Superior Oblique muscle" involvement.
If it resolves spontaneously it is of no significance and if it has lasted for days and weeks, it is a cause for concern.
Normally due to anxiety/lack of sleep/excess of stress/caffeine/
nicotine withdrawal/overexposure to computer can all lead to Myokimia.
Treatment;
Local application of Warm Compresses// A small dosage of benzodizepine//a small dosage of antihistaminic//Reducing and stopping of Coffee/Tea for a few days.
Coming to pathological Myokimia. which may last for days and weeks,
Differential Diagnosis;-Myotonia- due to Isaac's Syndrome-responds to carbamazepine/
phenytoin.For other disease associated Myokimias such as Multiple Sclerosis/Neuromyotonia/Hemifacial Spasm/
Blepharospasm etc professional
help from neurologist has to be obtained.
Wishing you a Speedy Recovery.,
Best regards.,
