Brief Answer:
Treatment of peptic ulcers is on following lines.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
Thanks for the query under Health care magic. I understand your concern,
The treatment of stomach ulcer depends on cause.( H pylori infection/ regular intake of pain medicines- Nonsteroidal anti inflammatory drug like Ibuprofen /other drugs like steroids, anti coagulants, low dose aspirins / eating spicy food, or too much of fasting / alcohol, tobacco chewing or smoking / psychological stress in life -any of the things when present regularly.. can result in peptic ulcer.)
So controlling the cause & at the same time treatment to heal/ protect gastric mucus membrane forms the treatment of peptic ulcer,
1. Treatment of H pylori infection- Normally a combination of antibiotics is used to kill the bacteria.Your doctor will choose between Amoxicillin, Clarythromycin, levofloxicin, tetracycline & Metranidazol or Tinidazol- according the severity of infection, your tollerance & antibiotic sensitivity.
2.Medications to block acid production & promote healing like
Omaprazol/Ranitidine or Famotidin /Acid neutralizers for symptomatic relief like Gelusil.
3.self care- Medical treatment combined with self care gives good & early results.
- Eat non spicy, bland diet with vitamins ( specially A& C), boiled rice, boiled vegetables, fruits& salads... Probiotics help.. take yogurt / cheese, Avoid too much or too little eating. No fasts please. Avoid too hot food.Best is to have small & frequent servings every 3 hours.
- Avoid stress, have 6 hours sound sleep, avoid tobacco chewing, smoking or alcohol.
- Consider eliminating regular intake of medication/ switch to safer drug with your doctor's help/ If you need to take harmful medicine consider combining it with acid neutralizers.
- Only milk diet can give temporary pain relief.. but later on it increases trouble, as it produces acid later.Try by restricting/ dropping milk intake.
4. Treatment of complications like perforation of ulcer/ gastric bleeding may need surgery .
This is overall plan for treating peptic ulcer, I hope that satisfies you. In case you have some more query.. I would be happy to help.
Thanks
