Suggest Treatment For Ulcers On The Legs
Needs further evaluation
Detailed Answer:
Hi there
Thanks for the query
Is the ulcer above or below the bony point on the inside of your ankle?
Do you have any tingling or numbness of the feet?
Usually ulcers above the bony point are due to insufficiency of the veins and ulcers below it are due to decreased blood supply.
Since your Doctor has tested you for Diabetes, he must be suspecting decreased blood supply which is common in this condition.
Do get a 2D colour Doppler of the arteries and veins of the leg. This will tell us the problem that deserves attention.
Keep the limb elevated. Apply compression bandage over the dressing if you have foot and leg swelling. Keep well hydrated. Avoid smoking and drinking alcohol.
Kindly respond to my queries about your condition and do get the investigation done for a better understanding to help manage this condition.
I hope I have answered your query.
I will be available to answer your follow up queries.
Regards,
Dr. Aashish Raghu
