Posted on Wed, 24 May 2017
Question: I am suffering acute pain in my lower back, right buttock that has progressed all the way down my right leg all t into my calf and ankle. My condition is due to an injury from a fall. My sciatic nerve is involved. I need topical relief from the pain. I am taking maximal doses of Ibuprofen for a two-day run. chiropractic care is not providing significant relief. Xrays show no damage, but the inflammation is severe. I also take Eliquis for a mid a-fib. Options exists like acupuncture or even laser surgery. MRI seems like the next thing to do, since the x-ray shows no detailed injury or inflammation. GThe pain is ACUTE and debilitating.

Brief Answer:
Get MRI done as early as possible

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for posting the question.
I have gone through your medical history in detail.

From the symptoms,it seems that you are suffering from a slipped disc causing compression of the spinal nerve. This causes severe pain in back and radicular pain in the leg.

MRI is the first thing you should do to see the extent of slipped disc.

Temporary relief from pain will be provided by tramadol or diclofenac tablets.
Using a lumbar belt around the back and application of local gel with hot fomentation will help.

Do let me know the MRI report once it is ready so that i can guide you further.

I hope the answer was useful.

Feel free to ask me any follow up queries that you may have.

Thank you.
Kind regards.
