Question: I have uterine cancer stage IIIc and before my surgery I had a blood test done, CA 125. My level was 33.2. After surgery without any type of chemo or radiation my level is 7.9. What does this mean? Why do I need chemo and radiation. 1 lymp node tested positive right side of pelvic.

Brief Answer:
Hello. Chemo and radiation are part of treatment

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear. I have gone through the details. So ca 125 has come down and it means that the tumor burden has been reduced. Since you have a locally advanced form of disease and node is also positive, chemo and radiation are must. Radiation helps to kill the residual tumor cells at local site. Chemo will destro the cells that have escaped to blood circulation.
Thanks and regards
