Question: I am trying to determine if I have a yeast infection or not. Other than seeing a doctor in person what's the best way to tell?

Brief Answer:
Can we get an image of the infected area?

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

It would be difficult to tell whether it is yeast infection without some additional information. I will recommend that you provide more information to us on its location, duration, what the symptoms are and what has changed since it first appeared. It would be great if you could also upload an image for review.

To upload an image, click on the link to upload a file and follow the instructions. The image would be sent to me for review and more insights.

In all, provide some more information and an image for review so that I can provide a personalized response and helpful advice on how to address this.

I look forward hearing from you at your earliest convenience. Until then, I wish you well.

I've been experiencing vaginal discharge for a couple days that's yellowish in color but does not smell. I've also had some irritation in the area that burns a little when I urinate. I've recent started a sexual relationship with my partner. We've used condoms every time we've had intercourse, but I would say the symptoms began shortly after we started having regular intercourse. I also scratched myself with a razor in the same general area when shaving about 5 days ago and it seems the most irritation stems from that. I wouldn't be concerned if it weren't for the discharge.

Brief Answer:
This is unlikely to be a vaginal fungal infection!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

What is characteristic for vaginal fungal infection are the itches. With no itches, thesis very unlikely. I believe the soreness is more related to the repeated frequent intercourse encounters/shaving and not an active infection.

Concerning vaginal secretions are abundant, Not cream white and offensive. Though you have noted increased secretions, at this time there are no other elements to suggest that it is an infection.

For now, do nothing and monitor only. If the symptoms persist, then I will suggest that we obtain a specimen from the vaginal and examine to make sure there is nothing we are missing out on.

I wish you well and feel free to talk to me if need be.
