Suggest Treatment For Vaginal Itching

Question: Hi,
I experience severe itching at vulva any time during the day or night, Sometimes it worsens at night. I don't have any abnormal discharge as such. It comes and go. I have been experiencing this for past several months but it happens like once a month or even once in two months. It is extremely uncomfortable and I cannot focus on work if I have itching. I am sexually active but I don't know if this has anything to do with sex as this happens only once a month or even less frequently than that. I also suffer from PCOD and have irregular periods. The undergarment fabric seems to increase the itching as I feel relieved after I remove undergarments.

Brief Answer:
Fungal infection or dermatitis
Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand the concerns.
Itching in the vulval area can be due to fungal infection, allergic or contact dermatitis due to the fabric of the undergarments.
I will suggest you to consult a dermatologist to rule out any of these by a proper local examination.
Moreover, you should change the brand of the undergarments, preferably wear cotton, and change it twice a day, drink cleaner water.
Antifungal treatment may be required after diagnosis is confirmed.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
