Brief Answer:
Vasovagal response to BM...

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

You are reporting to feel an intense head pressure while having a BM (which was not straining). If it happened only once, there is nothing worrisome.

Sometimes, it happens what we call "vasovagal response". In other words, the nervous system regulating heart and blood vessels ends malfunctioning due to a possible triggering factor (e.g. bowel movements or standing too long sit while having bm).

If the episode could be repeated, I advise to consult with your physician to run further cardiac tests.

All the best!

I have actually passed out due to vagal twice. Once earlier this year while having the stomach flu and 4 years ago. This was different so was not sure if it could be related. Do i need to worry about my vagal nerve? It only happens when i have a BM. Worries something could always trigger it. Both times i pased out i went to ER. Fist time because i hit my hewd ans second time because i was laying on the floor clammy about to pass out while throwing up and having BM. Bith times dr acted as if vagualing out is no big deal

Brief Answer:
Now worrisome...

Detailed Answer:
Hi back,

From what you reporting, what you have experienced is not worrisome. It's normal to have a vagal response while hitting the head and having BM.

It would be worrisome if you have frequent passing out episodes that would interfere with your daily activities.

I advise to observe is the episodes will repeat or any other unusual symptom will be present. In such case, should report to your physician for further evaluations.

Enjoy life!
