Suggest Treatment For Vertigo

It stays for 7-10 days, some times less than that. This period is always very uncomfortable and fearful. I tried Vertin, stematil etc.
Is there any way to permanently stop this disease?
BPPV
Detailed Answer:
Hello sir and thanks for using healthcaremagic,
from your symptoms I feel that you are probabaly suffering from BPPV - Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo. It can only be confirmed by examination. A test called as Dix Hallpike test is done to confirm. Please meet your ENT doctor for the same.
BPPV is the most common cause for vertigo.
It tends to recur and each recurrence lasts for a few days.
Do not worry.
Generally we give a course of labyrinthine sedatives for every recurrence.
You can try Brandt Daroff exercises. Talk to your doctor about it. You can even get details of these exercises from youtube or even on google search.
Epleys manouvre helps to control symptoms . Talk to your ENT doctor about it.

In 2009 I went through ENG test followed by Brain MRI in a very premium hospital of XXXXXXX Finally I was given Vertin 8 mg thrice a day and some ear exercises. I went through them for six months. Next two times of attack I did not went through any medicine.
My question is, what causes labyrinthine. In my case as it is repeating, so is there any particular reason for it? How can I prevent it again in future? (My question may be silly, as after getting fever once it is very unlikely that some one will not get again.)
The feeling is very much uncomfortable and hampers my day to day activity.
Kindly help.
labyrinthine sedatives
Detailed Answer:
Hello sir,
Infection of the labyrinth, injury to the labyrinth can disrupt the delicate physiology of the labyrinth thereby triggering giddiness.
In BPPV, there will be debris floating in your labyrinth and with movement of head the debris gets dislodged giving rise to giddiness.
I cannot honestly tell you how your symptoms can be prevented because I do not have a diagnosis. I will have to examine you to diagnose your condition. See an ENT for a diagnosis. Only when there is a diagnosis can we consider treatment.
From your symptoms I can make a fair guess, since your doctor has put you on vertin and ear exercises I guess that your ENG and MRI have not revealed anything.
This makes me feel that you are suffering from BPPV. Also since you have no others symptoms like hearing loss and tinnitus, BPPV becomes even more probabale. But it is wrong to speculate.
Please see a doctor to confirm the diagnosis.
If it indeed turns out to be BPPV then epley's manouvre can be done to prevent relapse.
When you have symptoms you can take labyrinthine sedatives like prochlorperazine. Again talk to your doctor about it.
Regards,
Dr Rajkishori Godhi.
