Suggest Treatment For Vitreous Floaters
Question: I'm a 57 year old female. I began using zyrtec and flonase in the past 2 months. Starting 3 weeks ago I began developing vitreous floaters - first in my right eye and now in my left. Could flonase or zyrtec cause this. The floaters have increased and I have been checked by an opthomologist - no retina problems so far.
Brief Answer:
Flonase may be the culprit

Thank you for sending in your query.
Flonase or Fluticasone is a synthetic glucocorticoid and in scientific literature there have been several reports of appreance of floaters in patients using the drug.
The mechanism is not understood yet and effect is largely irreversible.
Since you are having significant problem kindly consult your doctor and discontinue the medication. Ask your physician to change it with a safer option.
Do get back to me in case of any further query.
