Suggest Treatment For Weight Gain While On Thyroid Medication
Question: HI I have been taking nature Thyroid for about two years, I didn't have issues with my thyroid before the dr Im seeing to treat my menopause, I take Estrogen and Testosterone pellets inserted into my butt cheek. my last insertion was in January, and since then I have gained 10 pounds, what could be cause of the sudden change in weight?

Anyway ,as endocrinologist i can say that being overweight often has nothing to do with the diet or physical activities.The problem is instead about misfiring hormones.
At normal levels, estrogen actually helps keep you lean by goosing the production of insulin, a hormone that manages blood sugar.
When estrogen gets thrown off, though, it turns you into a weight-gain machine.So your Estrogen therapy can be the culpit of your weigh gain.
At the other side the hypothyroidism can be another potential cause of weigh gain.
You mention that you didn't have issues with your thyroid gland,but you take Nature thyroid. and this is a thyroid hormone replacement therapy.
Nature thyroid is a natural product made from animal thyroid glands (usually a pig's). It replaces or provides more thyroid hormone, which is normally produced by the thyroid gland. So,i can dedeuce that you have hypothyroidis.
I have a question for you:Have you ever done the thyroid function tests(TSH ,freeT3 and freeT4?
