Suggest Treatment For Weird Sensations In The Heart

default
Posted on Tue, 12 May 2015
Question: I began having these weird sensations in my heart. I had an EKG done which shows mild blockage. They did a holter monitor test for 48 hours and I felt tons of these sensations in that time. When I turned it in they said there was no data on the monitor so I would have to retest. On the second round, I told them I barely felt any. It came back with an average of 2 PVCs an hour, plus a bradychardia and tachardia. They said it was acid reflux. It has been gradually getting worse to the point I am feeling them several times an hour. I also have felt dizziness/lightheadeness, numbness/tingling in my hands and feet, as well as pain in my arm and sciatic nerve pain down my leg. The nerve pain may have nothing to do with my heart and be from the pain I have in my neck/back. I have cut caffeine out, increased my water intake, decreased spicy and greasy foods to almost none, and added more fruits/vegetables to my diet. The feeling in my heart is so strong each time I can feel it all the way in my neck. After each one, I feel more exhausted than before. Do I need to push the issue or is this all really reflux? I have had acid reflux before when I was in basic training and it felt nothing like this.

Brief Answer:
Its cervical radiculopathy.

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Greetings from Dr.Divakara.P
Thanks for posting your query.

Your symptoms very typically fit to a condition called Cervical radiculopathy.

This is a condition where there occurs compression of nerve at the back of neck. This nerve gives sensory and pain sensation to back of neck, head, arm, shoulder, hand and chest.

Compression of this nerve causes numbness/Tingling/pain in the above mentioned regions.

My advise to you is to get MRI Cervical spine scan, this scan confirms the diagnosis and the severity of the problem. Depending on the severity of the problem the treatment varies.

Also do slow rotation exercise of neck daily.

Hope this information was useful to you.
Any clarification feel free to ask.

Regards.
