Suggest Treatment For Withdrawal Symptoms Of Venlafaxine
I have recently been diagnosed with low thyroid (treatment started) and have started bio-hormone replacement therapy during this same period. Blood work to evaluate my "micronutrients" have shown deficiencies in B2, Serine, Chromiun, Zinc, Asparagine and Vitamin A. Borderline deficiencies include Insulin, Immunidex, Selenium, Vitamin E and Spectrox. Supplements are now being used for the Chromium, Zinc, Selenium and Vitamin E. My weight is 160, height 5'5" and DOB 08/05/50. I have been on a gluten free diet for the past 2 years.
Venlafaxine withdrawal
Detailed Answer:
Hello and Welcome
I appreciate your concern
Venlafaxine is a selective serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors SSNRI used in treating depression, panic disorder and anxiety. Yes, it can be stopped. Venlafaxine can be stopped when the dose is 37.5mg. Sedation with chlordiazepoxide which is a benzodiazepine along with addition of a related drug such as fluoxetine or desvenlafaxine can be helpful in serving as a bridge towards the withdrawal. It can be a challenge letting go of a drug that has helped bath the brain with neurotransmitters day in and day out. There would be certain adjustments needed at every level. Behavioral cognitive therapy sessions can be done simultaneously or preferably a withdrawal group therapy can be joined, if possible. This will help in the overall withdrawal phase.
Wishing you best of health
Thanks
