Suggest Treatment For Yellow Pustule On The Surgical Scar
Question: My wife had surgery 3 days ago. She has a yellow puss coming from a post surgical scar. Should we be concerned? What can/should we do to?

If pus is caming out from the surgical scar than it means that it got infected. There are a lot of reasons why a surgical scar get infected but the treatment is the same.
For a wound to get healed if it is infected,the pus need to be drained and the wound need to be cleaned.
Also,if the wound is big or if the tissue around the scar is inflamated,your wife might need to start a dose with antibiotics.
Depending from the size of the scar your wife might need or not to do an ultrasound of the soft tissue around the scar.
I suggest you consult the surgeon to take a closer look at the wound,inspect it and if needed drain it.
If this is not possible than consult your family doctor do examine the surgical scar. This way we will be able to be 100 % sure that it is pus.
