Suggest Treatment Fro Fever And Pain During Urination
Question: I have had pain during passing urine for the past 5 days and fever above 101 in the post afternoons.
Initially the doctor treated me with TaximO 200 mg ( I have taken 7 tablets so far).
Yesterday the doctor advised for a abdomen scan which was done today and urine culture (given today)
The Abdomen scan report says: GROSS PROSTATOMEGALY WITH POSTVOID RESIDUE OF 60cc.
What does it mean and what in your opinion is the line of treatment and how long will it be before I am able to function normally.

The prostetomegaly is age related. It is seen in most of the men after 60 years.
There are medical treatment for the condition.
The last stage of treatment is surgery.
But prostetomegaly and residual urine alone are not the indications for the surgery. The treatment totally depends on the clinical evaluation and other complications.
In your case i feel medical treatment alone would give a good relief. Like alpha blockers.
but before that you should get uroflometry and PSA estimation investigations to rule out any sort of complications.
