Suggest Treatment To Be Taken After Bitten By A Bug

Question: While in the back yard i was biten by a bug .
I had swollen feet for 2 days and a brown spot . I used Cortizon topical cream and took 4 benedryl . Its a bit better now but still painfull

Hi,

Welcome to HCM...

I read history and looked at photo.. After that I could conclude that most probably you may be having insect bite dermatitis followed by secondary bactetial infection leading to mild cellulitis... There is swelling and erythema.

For perfect diagnosis you consult dermatologist.

Still, I would suggest as follow...

- elevation of affected leg
- bed rest
- a short course of antibiotics like cefixime
- anti inflammatory drugs like nimesulide
- antihistaminics if there is itching
- take care to protect from insects
