Its difficult

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for choosing health care magic for posting your query.

I have gone through your question in detail and I can understand what you are going through.

Unfortunately as per the court of law, you cannot claim to forcibly take care of your son. He has his own rights to live the way he likes. You cannot detain him unless he does some crime. If h3 does some crime, then the same has to be informed to the police and the legal advisory can then detain him in the hospital. The rules in developed countries are very strict in this regard. If yoi are willing to.move, do consider movong to some developing country like i suggest XXXXXXX where the rules are still realistic as of now and you will be in a better position to take care of your son.

Hope I am able to answer your concerns.

If you have any further query, I would be glad to help you.

If not, you may close the discussion and if possible you may rate the answer for me, so that I get a good feedback.

dr. I am not trying to detain him in this case he is a threat to himself and others...the police put him into the hospital...the question I wanted answered is there a place other than the state hospital that he can go to...to live and they would monitor his meds....is there a home assisted living fac..in ny...pa...or florida that he can go to rather than the state hospital...he can't go back to his apt. the people that live around him are afraid of him ...so he is talking to himself in the hospital..refusing to take his meds...while in the hospital...so maybe you can ask some of your associates that are much more familar with mental illness if there are assisted living facilities for the mentally ill thank you

Brief Answer:
None to my knowledge

Detailed Answer:
Hello
I have also spoken to other people of my specialization and even they feel that there is no such facility for mentally ill people where they can let him stay and monitor the medications. Infact the law in this regards prevents such facilities from growing.
In XXXXXXX we have plenty of Non-governmental rehabilitation centers where he can get help. But probably there are no such facilities in and around Florida or NY or PA.
I would still suggest that you make an enquiry about this issue from a local psychiatrist at florida who will be in a better position to help you.
However if you have any further query about his illness, I would be glad to help you further.
Kind regards

Brief Answer:
Apologies

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Health Care Magic is an international forum and we try our best to help you. I was suggesting XXXXXXX as I belong to XXXXXXX and I know how best the rules are friendly to people with mental illness and are very practical as well. I have no personal interest in where you seek treatment.
P.S.: Many people from US and UK bring their mentally ill people to XXXXXXX to seek treatment due to such impractical rules in their own country.
For addicts as well either there are detention facilities or rehab homes where addicts stay with consent. Your son if having mental illness and he will not stay with consent. i tried helping you the best way I can, but aplologies if the efforts have fallen less than your expectation.
I would still suggest that there are plenty of local psychiatrists in florida who can help you in a better way with your query.
Regards
Dr. Srikanth Reddy
