Suggest Ways To Manage Iodine Content In Diet

Is there anything i can do to keep my thyroid in good health besides diet and good lifestyle? Thank You.
XXXXXXX T.
Just do regular check up for the thyroid function.
Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX
Thank you for asking on HCM!
Most of the countries in our days have done the iodization of the salt and fewer cases of iodine deficiency goiter are seen.
If you consume iodized salt and eat a healthy diet, you are not supposed to have iodine deficiency.
You should get worried and monitor your thyroid function yearly if you have familiar hystory for autoimmune thyroid diseases, nodular goitre or thyroid cancer.
Otherwise all you can do is to have a healthy diet and lifestyle and check the thyroid function ( by checking TSH, Ft4 and Ft3 level) every 3 years.
Hope i have been helpful. Let me know if there's any further queries.
Kind regards,
Dr.Mirjeta

Avoid stress is the most important
Detailed Answer:
Welcome back!
Regarding lifestyle I would recommend first of all to avoid stress as much as possible. Thyroid autoimmune diseases and almost all the others has stressful events as a trigger factor.
Relapses are many cases related to stress too.
Smoking is the greatest enemy of Graves' disease and the first line of treatment is to stop smoking.
But there are data that smoking helps to lower the Hashimoto antibodies. Anyway we don' t recommend to smoke in order to prevent Hashimoto because the side effects of smoking are worse than Hashimoto disease.
Physical activity is recommended in almost all pathologies because helps with different mechanisms, in this case reduces stress.
It will be a pleasure to answer your questions in the future ( if you will have).
P.S; Please accept and rate the answer if you do not have further queries.
Kind regards,
