Brief Answer:
Rather a lot of options.

Detailed Answer:
First, dealing with the current situation. Doctors are pretty flexible and if told there are some things or traits or features that a patient would rather have things different most doctors wold make changes. Keeping the present doctor and making modifications.
Alternatively often doctors have partners that patients can easily change over to. Doctors can also find other doctors to switch you to.
So, honestly addressing your situation with your doctor would be the first option.

there might be other pain doctors you could find.

Lastly, there are other pain management systems/options that are in the context of drug addiction (methadone or suboxone).

Brief Answer:
do you have a pill color preference also?

Detailed Answer:
Most addiction and fatalities are from the oxycodone or hydrocodone, statistically speaking, you are probably taking. There are currently far fewer deaths from methadone which is more available and is a once a day narcotic with , of course, narcotic effects on pain. Somehow that isn't to your liking nor is the current doctor you are seeing. This seems to be a common thread. If the current doctor is working out for you and not having a doctor won't work well for you at all, this would seem to give a direction for what to do.
I've listed the various drugs and options (legal ones) for obtaining narcotics. Methadone and suboxone likely being the safest alternatives. The entire list, the current doctor, me, are not to your liking.

Then the key question is what criteria would make something acceptable?
