Suggest Ways To Manage The Withdrawal Symptoms Of Oxycontin
Question: I miss my appioment with my Dr. On Monday I though it was Tue. The appointment was for a three month follow- up for pain treatment. Has me taking 3 60 mg. Oxyconitin a day. Now I have to wait unit the 11th of this month to see someone. I am out of meds. I am wanting to know what to expect and what I can do about it?

The main worry with using opioids like oxycontin at such a dose is withdrawal effects associated with stopping the drug midway without tapering it. Hyperactivity and insomnia and abnormal sleep patterns , tremors / shivering , vomiting/ nausea or diarrhea are associated with an acute withdrawal reaction. In severe cases even seizures can occur. So I would advise you to go to an E.R near you and inform them about your case along with your required documents and previous prescription of oxycontin to keep you at a tapered level till the 11th of this month to be on the safe side. Most likely you will be granted a refill.
