Question: I have pain in my right scapula.the onset of pain was sudden, about two months ago. I the pain has eased up over time then come back strong. I have tried topical pain salves, ice pack, heating pads and pain medication like tylenol. the medication helps for about 8 hours then I need more.

I have reviewed this information fully and it is suggestive of a strained muscle. I will suggest that you get it evaluated seen that it has been ongoing for two months. An X-ray of this area will be able to look at the bony structures as well and inform us if there us anything abnormal going on. If nothing else is identified, good pain medications to address this will help. Also, I recommend physical therapy to help relief the pains.

In all, probably muscular but examination and investigation advised. Physical therapy and pain pills in interim to address pain.
