It has been there for three month
Started off as a odd looking raised bump,dark XXXXXXX
It is located on the side of my knee
I am athlete that spend ton of time in the sun wearing shorts
Its kind of itchy and had a slight burning feeling from time to time

Looks doubtful about being skin cancer, go for excision biopsy

After going through the picture as well as your complaints thie lesion looks a little doubtful for being a skin cancer.
I would recommend to consult a dermatologist and go for excision biopsy of the lesion.
