Suggest Ways To Wean Off Pyridium

Question: I have been taking pyridine 95mg for a urinary problem. After I started taking it about 3 days I started having cramps in my legs front and back also in my angles so bad I could hardly get out of bed to walk, especially at night, Last night up every two hours. Used a walker to go to bathroom. Dr's assistance told me to keep using and I refuse. Couldn't stand the pain. Had me in tears.

Where is my answer to my question?

Sorry for the delay in my response.

I believe you are referring to Tab Pyridium / Phenazopyridine.

This drug causes side effects rarely but when it does especially side effects related to nervous system or muscles, it is wise to stop it.

Need not worry, the effects will surely wane off within 1 or 2 days of stopping the medication.

You may have to consult your treating doctor for a better alternative for your urinary problems.
