Swelling In Ankle, Peroneal Tendonitis. Concerned About Trip To Europe

Question: I have had a small area of swelling just above inside left ankle. No other swelling, except occasional peroneal tendonitis, usually re right ankle. I am 64, about 150 lbs., 5'3, no other serious health issues I know of. Every time my pulse has been checked in that leg it has been fine. Concerned because of European trip. Painless, no bruising or redness, although I did have some pain in that spot last year. (This is not a new problem)
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
A small swelling inside the ankle could be due to-
1. a tendon sheath swelling like ganglion.
2. A bone related benign swelling like osteoma.
3. Neurofibroma.
4. Sebaceous cyst.
5. Lipoma.
6. Epidermoid cyst.
From your description it seems to be a non progressive benign swelling. But a direct clinical examination is needed for exact diagnosis.
I hope this answers your query.
In case you have additional questions or doubts, you can forward them to me, and I shall be glad to help you out.
