What Causes Tibia Stress Fracture And Osteoid Osteoma?

My daughter was diagnosed with a tibia stress fracture in May. She had a MRI in June (because I insisted) and it showed a lesion. They did a CT scan and we got the results yesterday. They said she had a osteoid osteoma. Can she have both conditions?

Hello,

As the CT Scan results report that there is osteoid osteoma so there are chances that there will be a tibial stress fracture as osteoid osteoma occurs in long bones like femur and Tibia. Due to any changes in the normal alignment of the body calcification, there might be a change in the biomechanics of the bone and may lead to the stress fracture of the bone.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
