Question: I am 73 years old ,diagonised with Hiatus Hernia. have swollen midrift most of the time ,right epigastric
sore spot and breathlessness walking up stairs or ramps, also have osteo arithritis.
Is there some special diet that would stop the uncomfortable swelling.

Hiatus Hernia is the situation where a small portion of the top of your stomach is riding up through your diaphragm. The symptoms can be controlled to a great extent by antacids like the ones you are taking and by diet.
Ultimately however you may need surgery when you are fit enough.
Regarding diet you must avoid all fatty and fried foods including the oily fish. Eat lots of fruit and veg, fish, chicken but not the skin. You will soon learn what exacerbates your symptoms and what to avoid.
