Detailed Answer:
Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic

The majority of teas, supplements and foods can be used with amlodipine but there are a few precautions.

It should not be used with grapefruit juice because the juice increase the absorption of the medication and therefore increases the risk of side effects.

Some calcium supplements such as calcium carbonate can also decrease the effectiveness of the medication so you should check for this ingredient in your supplement.

There is thought to be some interaction between this medication and pleurisy root and ginseng.

There are no known interactions with other supplements or teas, you can use any tea or supplement not mentioned above.

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions

I understand hibiscus is good for BP. Is that safe with Amlodipine?

Brief Answer:
it would have an additive lowering effect

Detailed Answer:
Hi

In terms of hibiscus tea, there is no specific effect or interaction with amlodipine compared with other blood pressure medications.

SInce hibiscus can potentially lower the blood pressure, it is possible that if used with another agent that lowers the pressure (such as amlodipine), the blood pressure can be lowered more than expected.
YOu would have to monitor the pressure to ensure that it does not fall too low, it is a small risk but you may want to consider it.

It may be best to obtain a home monitor at one of your local pharmacies.
