Treatment For High Blood Pressure, Knee And Back Pain?
Question: This question is for my close relative. She has high blood pressure and knee and back pain. Blood pressure is generally normal on most of the days but high BP comes one or two days a month. But she is basically worried about the knee and back pain. What is the treatment for this?
Hello.......
Thanks for your query. I understand your concern for your close relative. It is unlikely her high blood pressure has anything to do with knee/back pain. These two areas bear a lot of pressure of the body's weight and hence are prone for degeneration and development of osteoarthritis. She requires a x-ray of back and knee joint and an orthopaedic examination before starting treatment. The treatment would include adequate rest, weight loss strategies to reduce pressure on joints, physiotherapy with graded exercises, infrared heat therapy, nutrition supplements like chondroitin/glucosamine and analgesics occasionally. Hope you found the information useful.
