The most common masses in the gall bladder are stones; rarely, there are abscesces or infectious collections of the gall bladder wall; but for other massess, particularly involving the tissues of the bladder, malignancy is a concern. It is very likely that more imaging will be required by your physicians to help get to a specific diagnosis (CT scan of the abdomen, MRI of the abdomen); even if the results are inconclusive, a suggestion about taking the gall bladder out (cholecystectomy) would also be a possibility.
