What Are Side Effects Of Curam On HBV Non-reactive Patient?
Please find side effects in details below
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for writing in.
I have read through your query in detail.
Being HBV non reactive is the same as HBV negative. That is the person does not have HBV infection and can be considered to be any healthy person in the population.
The side effects of Curam (875 amoxicillin +clavulanic Acid) 1 g are the following
1. This medication is avoided in patients with a previous history of amoxicillin-clavulanate-associated cholestatic jaundice or liver problems.
2. In ver few patients, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, indigestion, rash and urticaria, candida superinfection can occur as side effects.
3. Rarely, there might be appearance of a skin rash spreading to different parts of body or other signs of hypersensitivity and allergy when this medicine must be stopped immediately and the doctor informed.
Hope this answers your question. Please feel free to correct any oversight in my interpretation of your problems and discuss them in detail as per your requirements.
Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have any doubts.

Dr.Vivek

Can take if liver function test is normal
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for writing back with an update.
If he is HBV clear and liver function tests are normal then there is almost no risk involved. The estimated risk of symptomatic hepatitis due to augmentin is less than one in 100,000 persons exposed.
With a less than one in a million risk of liver damage, I think there should be nothing to worry. For safety sake you can get liver function tests done before starting if it has not been done in last 6 months.
Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have any doubts.
