Brief Answer:
likely benign

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Likely to be benign particularly if appeared over a few days. Cancerous lesions tend to slow growing and appear over a long period of time.

In addition, cancer of the bartholin gland is very rare.
Vulvar cancer (the vulva is external genital organs of female) accounts for only 0.3% of new cancers.
This means that 3 out of 1000 new cancer cases are related to the vulva.

Cancer of the bartholin gland make up only 1 to 2% of this 0.3% of cases. Cancer of the bartholin gland therefore would account for 1 to 3 cases out of 10 000 or more.

The mass seen is more than likely benign and due to inflammation/infection.

Your doctor can see it and treat it as needed.

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions

Will a doctor most likely order a biopsy and since it is the size of a marble will it need to be lanced. Would antibiotics clear it up.

Brief Answer:
not if an obvious appearance of infection

Detailed Answer:
HI

If it is an obvious infection then no, a biopsy is not likely to be done.

The area may be incised to release any pus if this is thought to be present and antibiotics given.

Brief Answer:
in some cases, minimal initial discomfort

Detailed Answer:
HI

Infection is more likely to have pain but in some cases there is minimal discomfort.
In some cases, in the early stages before the tissue inside starts to break down and turn into pus, there is little pain but it would be best to see your doctor for an assessment.

If anything else unclear, feel free to ask
