What Are The Chances Of Poisoning Due To Burning Curtains?
![default](/r/images/default.png)
I was in my bedroom and hadn't realized that while my floor lamp was on all day, my cotton curtains were actually laying on top of the bulb. The fabric was burned and had holes in it, and the plastic shade on the lamp also has two huge holes and seem to be burned - there was no fire. I think that though the lamp was turned on/off over the course of a few days, the burning took place over a few days and I have been breathing in fumes. Do I have HCN or any other type of poisoning? Should I go to er? I have some chest pain and drowsiness
No need to worry much.
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, thanks for your quetion on HCM.
In my opinion you should not worry much as this will not cause any damage.
Even if there was burning of curtains, it would be too small to cause poisoning. So i dont think anything worrisome in your case with this incidence.
I think you are stressed and tensed that is why you are having symptoms. Better come outside of house, breath fresh air. You are feeling drowsiness may be due to insufficient oxygen.
So no need to worry much. Be relax and calm. Take your medicines regularly and forget about this incidence.
If after 5 days, you still have chest pain than get done ECG to rule out any cardiac cause.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
