What Are The Chances Of Pregnancy After Unprotected Sex?

Yes there is a chance but difficult to say how much.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your query.
Because you are uncertain of your last menstrual period is difficult to calculate the likelihood of pregnancy. In addition the emergency contraceptive pills that you took will likely delay your menses a few days. The only additional thing that you could do would be to have an IUD inserted. It can delay pregnancy further out than emergency contraception pills.
A urine pregnancy test should be positive 10 days after conception occurs. I would suggest using the first morning void for earliest results.
Insertion of an IUD would prevent your having to worry about contraception or pregnancy. The Mirena will also lighten your period. Over time it may even cause it to disappear which is a benefit for many women and not harmful in any way.
If you find that you are pregnant the pills you took will cause no harm. However if the pregnancy is undesired you might want to consider taking medicine to bring it to an end. It will cause an early miscarriage which is cramping and bleeding like a bad period. Rarely are there complications.
I am very sorry that you're in this difficult position. I hope this information is helpful to you.

It varies. Usually not more than a few days.

I know you were very concerned. But I do not think that you're going to have a reliable pregnancy test before XXXXXXX 13. There is no harm in taking an earlier test, because a positive result will prompt you to make your decision. However negative result cannot be relied on until 10 days out from that last unprotected intercourse.

If you ovulated on May 19, preg test reliable now

The problem is that you aren't absolutely sure. Therefore I can't be absolutely sure. I know this is not the answer that you want but is the honest answer.

If you're certain you were not ovulating then it is unlikely that you were pregnant
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Conception occurs around the time of ovulation. It can sperm to live for approximately three days so three days on either side of ovulation or another words an entire week of the month is fertile. I still cannot be certain. No one can be. Biology is just too varied.
You know your own body best. But the information you gave me is a two-week window from when your last menstrual period occurred either the week of May 5 or the week of May 12. I know you want reassurance. This is going to be a very long week for you. However, I have never lied to a person seeking my opinion as a medical doctor and I'm not going to start now. This is a tough time. If you're sure you weren't ovulating then it is likely you did not conceive. But likely isn't 100%. also you took emergency contraception which is about 80% effective three days out and probably good for five days. Again reassuring but not hundred percent. If you want further medical reassurance then have an IUD inserted as explained above. This is good for a week out from conception and possibly longer. It is a very effective method of preventing an early pregnancy from establishing in the womb.
My heart this out to you. I know this is a difficult difficult time. I had giving you my best advice. If however I can be of any further assistance please do not hesitate to ask for me.
I do want to correct one thing I said earlier. It is the copper IUD not the Mirena that is most effective for emergency contraception. The Mirena will not be as inhospitable to sperm. The copper IUD will not lighten your future periods. But after some adjustment will not make them heavier either. If used within the first 5 to 7 days it is over 90% effective in preventing pregnancy.
regards,
