What Are The Chances Of Pregnancy Without Ovulation?
Question: I would like a second opinion. This question is about pregnancy at certain ages. Is it medically possible for a girl who has never ovulated or gained first menarche to get pregnant naturally or Is this completely impossible ? And can you explain why it's possible for girls who have got their first ever period to get pregnant but not girls for example at the ages of 2,3,4,5 etc ?
Brief Answer:
It is not impossible.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
The girl who has never ovulated or attained menarche cannot get pregnant. But there are instances of girls less than 10 years getting pregnant which we call as exceptions. This can happen if she starts ovulating earlier and gets pregnant just before her first periods.
Please feel free to discuss further. I will be glad to answer the follow up queries that you have.
Wishing you good health.

I am aware that a girl will ovulate prior to getting their first period. This is the time she can get pregnsnt just shortly before her first period. But medically it's impossible for a girl to get pregnsnt if hasn't ovulated for first time. Secondly is it true that girls at the ages of 3,4,5 etc cannot fall pregnant as they have not ovulated ? Does ovulation occur in girls 5 or less ?
Brief Answer:
Pregnancy does not happen before ovulation.
Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
Yes it is medically not possible for a girl to be pregnant before an actual ovulation. At age less than 5 years since ovulation does not happen, pregnancy is not possible. So medically a girl cannot become pregnant before 5 years of age.

Thanks. So to confirm, before 5 is no ovulation , therefore no release of egg, and no egg is equal to no pregnamy. Pregnancy is only possible once a girl attains her first period , Is this correct ?

Yes.

In general what age would a girl ovulate ? And secondly do they ovulate around 14 days prior to their first ever period?
Brief Answer:
Ovulation less likely before menarche.
Detailed Answer:
Usually girls have menarche at 11-14 years age and the first few cycles are anovulatory. After the cycles become regular the ovulation starts.
It is rare to ovulate 14 days before the first periods.
